This edition presents the second part of our series of live recordings of the Berliner Philharmoniker under Herbert von Karajan, most of which have never been released before. It covers the heyday of the 1970s, when the chief conductor and orchestra had fully found their feet. The recordings, released in complete concerts, offer an insight into Karajan’s dramaturgical approach and give listeners the opportunity to hear concertmasters Leon Spierer and Thomas Brandis.

The recordings have been digitally remastered from analogue sources in the best quality possible. Designed by Thomas Scheibitz, the hardcover box set contains the recordings on 20 CDs/SACDs (hybrid) and is accompanied by an in-depth booklet of essays and photos.
